What Helmkind is
Helmkind is a self-help course built on acceptance and commitment therapy and skills from cognitive behavioural therapy. It has short daily sessions, a plan you write yourself, a logbook, a small crew and, if you want one, a trained first mate.
Helmkind is not a doctor, a therapist or an emergency service. If you are in danger, use Urgent help in the app or call your local emergency number.
Who can use it
You must be 18 or older. We do not ask for your name, email or phone number, so please choose a nickname that does not name you.
Your account
You sign in with a sign-in name and password. Your four recovery words are the only way back in if you forget your password. We cannot see them, so we cannot recover them for you. Keep them somewhere safe.
Your crew
Crews are for support. Follow the crew rules: no names, no contact details, no pictures, no links, and no unkind words. A moderator may remove a message that breaks the rules. If it keeps happening, you may be moved out of the crew.
Free and paid parts
Pause, Urgent help, your plan, your harbour and your logbook are always free and work without a connection. Membership adds the full course, a crew and a first mate. The subscription terms explain payment and cancelling.
Leaving
You can delete your account in Me, Account. Deleting can be undone for 14 days, then everything is removed for good.
Changes
If these terms change in a way that matters, the app will tell you and show what changed before it takes effect.
Version 1, in effect from 13 October 2026. The app shows the same text.
