Helmkind works without an email address, a phone number or a real name. You sign in with a private sign-in name, a password and four recovery words. Your logbook and plan are locked with a key made on your phone, so nobody at Helmkind can read them.

| Real name, email address, phone number, contacts, location, photos, advertising ID. No third-party analytics or advertising tools. | Logbook lines, your plan, your harbour, your compass words, your starting answers and check-ins. A backup copy on our server stays locked. | Your nickname, days on course, finished sessions, crew messages, today's weather word, membership status, and your country and language for the right help lines and prices. |
How do I sign in without an email?
With a sign-in name and a password you choose. Four recovery words you write down get you back in if you forget the password. Helmkind cannot see them, so keep them somewhere safe. A copy of the key in your phone's own backup, scanning a code from your old phone, or restoring a purchase can also bring your account back.
Can Helmkind staff read my logbook?
No. It is locked with a key only you hold, and there is no override. Staff see counts and settings, never who a member is, and they only look at groups of 20 people or more.
Will anyone see Helmkind on my phone?
Notifications never say what Helmkind is about, and you can hide their text. You can switch to a plain icon and name. Widgets never name the topic.
What do other members see?
Only your nickname, the weather word you share each day, and the messages you choose to send. Crew messages cannot carry links, email addresses, phone numbers or handles.
What about payments?
Payments go through Apple or Google. They tell us only whether your membership is active. We never see your card.
Can I take my data or delete it?
Yes. Export your data from the app, or delete your account in Me, Account. Deleting can be undone for 14 days, then it is removed for good.
